ENVIRAL® surface finishing gets more efficient energy concept

ENVIRAL® relies on the power of the sun to generate electricity for its two sites in Niemegk and Pöttelsdorf. This is not only sustainable, but also safe - because the photovoltaic systems increase electricity self-sufficiency in combination with electricity storage systems. The goal of ENVIRAL® is to maximize the use of solar power and to cap peak electricity demand. The latter caps electricity purchases by balancing out electricity peaks. This is an important step, as peaks can be a major financial burden because the entire volume of energy provided has to be paid to the supplier. ENVIRAL® achieves the aforementioned goal by means of an electricity storage system and the load or energy management system NTUITY.

The photovoltaic system at the Niemegk site has a capacity of 99.84 kWp and at the Pöttelsdorf site 190.82 kWp. The BLOKK commercial storage system was linked to the existing combined heat and power plant by means of the NTUITY energy management system - a product of the neoom group. By networking the devices with each other, the energy flow can be optimized - now all systems pull together:

Electricity load peaks are reduced and the use of own electricity increases significantly. And this pays off: load peaks are reduced and grid charges are saved. The BOXX charging stations, which were installed by neoom in Niemegk and Pöttelsdorf respectively, are also integrated into the energy management system - this prevents a charging process from increasing the targeted annual load peak and charging at suitable times.

The photovoltaic system and the BLOKK electricity storage system with a capacity of 104.2 kWh per site increase the overall self-consumption rate to up to 100% (Niemegk site 90%). This self-consumption rate and the optimized energy flow will enable ENVIRAL® to save quite a bit of energy per year. And this not only has an impact on finances, but also on our environment: ENVIRAL® has a CO2 savings potential of 64 tons per year thanks to its innovative energy concept. And as a result, we all win.
