ENERGY GLOBE WORLD Award for PHANTOR

New standards in atmospheric water production
In many parts of the world, a functioning water supply cannot be taken for granted. But where others see a problem, the Imhotep.Industries team working with Walter Kreisel sees a challenge. This is how PHANTOR emerged. A mobile atmospheric water generator (AWG) the size of a shipping container that harvests up to 10,000 liters of drinking water a day from the circulating air. This is enough to permanently supply a hospital or residential building with drinking water. But it also guarantees a reliable water supply in the event of a disaster. Because the mobile water giant PHANTOR is suitable for both stationary and semi-stationary use, it sets new standards. That is why the product has now been honored with the prestigious ENERGY GLOBE environmental award in the water sector.
Every year, 2000 to 3000 projects from all over the world with a focus on resource conservation, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies are submitted for the ENERGY GLOBE Award. The aim of the award is to present innovative and sustainable projects that offer feasible solutions to current and future environmental problems. PHANTOR is precisely such a product. It is named after the elephant, which can smell water over several kilometers and can even drill for it. Like other atmospheric water generators, it filters water from the surrounding air. Unlike most conventional AWGs, however, it is designed for both stationary and semi-stationary use. That’s because atmospheric water generators are needed primarily in places where water is scarce.
The innovative design of the unit and the integrated self-optimizing software set new standards in energy efficiency. PHANTOR generates up to 10,000 liters of water per day while feeding the dehumidified cool air to the heat exchanger instead of blowing it out. Primary power comes from a photovoltaic system on the roof. In combination with a power storage unit, power outages are no problem. This makes it particularly interesting for semi-stationary use. The drinking water produced meets Austrian standards. For this purpose, the harvested water passes through activated carbon filters, UV disinfection, mineralization and bacterial filters, among others. “PHANTOR produces enough water to supply a complete residential building, hotel or hospital with fresh water. In many areas of the world, this is more economical than reaching a water main,” says Walter Kreisel. PHANTOR plays in the champion’s league of atmospheric water generators and sets new standards. The receipt of the ENERGY GLOBE Award, the world’s most prestigious environmental prize, confirms this.
From more than 2000 projects submitted from over 180 countries, the expert jury chaired by Maneka Gandhi this year selected PHANTOR as the winner in the water category. We are both speechless and overjoyed.

"In remote locations, in arid regions, or during peacekeeping operations and disasters, it is especially important to quickly provide top-quality drinking water. Current AWGs are often too small to produce sufficient water, and/or they are not mobile enough. PHANTOR provides the missing link."
