Solar power plant sawmill
Ever since, the partnership between Convoltas and neoom bears fruits. A good example is the project Josef Wyss Sägerei. Here, both companies were able to demonstrate how they conceptualise and implement an overall energy solution: A 600 kWp PV system, erected in several stages, harvests energy directly from the sun. Within the framework of a "ZEV" - connection for self-consumption (Zusammenschluss zum Eigenverbrauch) - the generated energy is also made available to other consumers located on the site.
As much of this as possible: the 600 kWh BLOKK energy storage device from neoom does not only store the electricity, but also ensures that self-consumption is increased and peak loads are capped. This peak shaving is urgently needed because a sawmill is a very energy-intensive business that generates many power peaks. Within the framework of electricity demand provision, the entire grid usage including peaks is calculated - and charged within the framework of the grid usage fees. However, the energy storage device comes along and planes all (load peaks) equally, one might say...
In this way, the Josef Wyss Sägerei shows how the two components of electricity production & energy storage can reduce costs & emissions through their interaction. We are sure: We will see many more projects from neoom and Convoltas based on these components of energy transition.
